You talk about problems, look at Toyota, they had rusting frames, gas pedal sticking and a whole lot of other things that went wrong.
The only thing I wondering is why Ford is making all electric car, it seems like G.M. has a better idea gas & electric, the trains run diesels to run the electric motors to charge there battery's for years and it works great.
Just buy American !!!! and support the worker here.

I have a 2002 Ford Explorer that I bought new. I have 95,000 on it right now and the only problems I have had was a power window motor that was under warranty, and I just had to replace a hub bearing and now my battery is going but it starts everytime and has been very reliable. I did drive a Toyota Tacoma and it drove nicer than my Ford. I just rented a Focus for a day too and I was pretty impressed at how well that car rode for what it was.

Yes, I bought a couple of bad Fords as a youngerster not knowing much about cars at the time, but in both cases the oddmeter had been turned back and they were just wore out beforehand. In 1961 I bought my first new Ford a bright red Sunliner contvertible and I guess over the years have bought 55 to 60 more for self and family all Fords small problems from time to time nothing Ford did not take care of. Yes I also owned a couple Corvettes and a few Chrysler's I was happy with them as well. What I have known there is a multitude of cars that use a single belt drive and if goes out you better shut down.

Electric cars should cost far less than gas cars far fewer parts. The entire battery bank is going to have to be replaced and that can run up to 1/4 or more of the entire vehicles price. Not only do batteries wear out they wear down and that will be extremely frustrating. That being said electrics are far friendlier to the environment and the fuel costs are far less.Which brings me back to my original statement to really be attractive the original cost has to be less and that should included at least a subsidized cost deferment when the batteries have to be replaced.

They also sponsor the MTV show Skins too but claim they didn't ok it. Shows how out of control gm still is with their money, not knowing where their ad money is going. Whatever, just ask for another bailout.

I will never, ever purchase another Ford product as long as I live. I purchased two Fords at the same time in the 70's. The water pump and the valve train were powered by the same serpentine belt. This, of course, meant that if the water pump siezed, the entire engine would be totally destroyed. Stupid, no? Since my car had only 45,006 miles on it when the waterpump went, it was surely still under warranty. As it turns out, Ford, in order to prevent a recall of the motor, placed little tiny stickers on each one of those engines that read: "Replace belt every 45,000 miles." I got screwed out of $1,200.00 for their engineering incompetentcy. The day it got out of the shop, I traded it for a Chevy and have not had ONE LICK of problems with their products or warranties, since. Ford screwed themselves, because I became a lead fleet mechanic for a company with over 3,500 vehicles who proudly drive their Chevy products every day. You all know that FORD means "Found On Road, Dead" dontcha?
