Make Magazine just published its big Arduino issue, covering projects big and small that utilize the open-source I/O board. However, Make didn't tap the in-car potential of the imminently hackable Arduino, so SparkFun – the board's distributor – decided to highlight Eddie Zarick's Jeeputer setup.
If you're willing to trudge through the 11-minute video below, you'll see how Zarick mounted a custom display in the headliner above the rearview mirror that controls nearly every stock and aftermarket accessory on his Wrangler, including the interior and exterior lights, garage door and CB radio. And if Zarick loses his keys, he can start the engine with a code dialed into a dash-mounted keypad. Check out his website for more.
