TRANSLOGIC seeks to uncover the innovations that will shape the future of mobility, but sometimes to understand what's next you have to turn your attention toward the past. Such is the case with the enduring Chevy small-block V8 engine, which powered the iconic Corvette for generations. We take a timeout from the high-tech hybrid drivetrains of tomorrow to appreciate an ICE that was so simple and well designed that it persevered for over half a century at GM.

I am not sure a 1960 Corvette was a Stingray

it's obvious you know nothing about Corvettes. A 1960 is A C-1 generaqtion 1953 thru 1962 model years. The Stingray years are from 1963 thru 1967 a C-2 generation.

Actually to be 100% correct from 1963 -1967 (C2)the car was called a Sting Ray two separate words and in Block letters. In '68(C3) the Sting Ray became the Stingray written as one word and in script...

What a great show for many of us who are corvette enthusiasts. I'm on my third one and truly after owning just one...there are very few choices in the market place that can compare. General Motors has done a great job with the newest corvette and yet I still look forward to 16 months from now when the C7 corvette gets released to buyers. Sure wish it would have a DSG or MCT transmission with 475hp at 3000 lbs...and of course really good looks harking back to the 63 stingray.
