You are here: TRANSLOGIC 92: Bio-Bug

We often hear alternatives fuel sources referred to as "clean," but that's not exactly the case for this modified 2004 Volkswagen Beetle. The Bio-Bug has been converted to run on methane gas generated during sewage treatment. As our guest from Geneco waste solutions in Bristol, England so eloquently put it, this is a "poo-powered car." In case you were wondering, that's the smell of sustainability in the air.

Sooner or later, we will have to find a good use for human waste....we can't send it to outer space, and this sounds like an intelligent answer to two problems. Now if we could find a use for dirty diapers.

Though the thought is disgusting at first glance, if it is possibly feasible, it might be an alternative to seriously consider... I do, however, shudder at the thought of being behind the exhaust pipe of such a fuel-run vehicle.

That's why people should eat more beans and not smoke near the cars.
