As promised, Tesla has expanded its Supercharger network beyond California. As you might recall, Tesla's Supercharger stations can supply 150 miles of range to a Model S in only 30 minutes. After 30 minutes are up, the Supercharger continues as a high-speed charger, finishing up to full in about an hour.

The new Superchargers now make it possible for owners to travel the 443 mile trip between Boston and Washington D.C. The two locations for the Superchargers are at rest stops in Milford, Conn. and Wilmington, Del. Future sites are planned, including some that run on solar power.

Tesla's plans are to put its Supercharging stations throughout the U.S. so that customers can drive across the country in their fully-electric cars. Tesla hopes that this offering will remove any range anxiety associated with EVs for Tesla owners.

I have a lot better things to do with my time. Todays electric cars are only good for around town and gfar to expensive. Buy a golf cart, much cheaper

Hey, I've got a better idea.........lets improve the range of the battery itself.....the goal should be a battery
that will go 250-300 miles on a charge and last at least 20,000 miles

I've purchased a Tesla and expect to take delivery in June. I've added the third battery pack to get 300 miles on a charge. They are warranteed 8 years and unlimited milage.

The government is discussing the taxing of all of us by the amount of miles we drive...plus the cost of replacing batteries when necessary...???

This is sounding better and better. Once they get charging stations nationwide, watch how many more people will buy this car. It should also reduce the price of the car as we move into the future. I love it!!! Make it affortable for the average person and, I, for one am in....

i've purchased one and expect delivery in June. I'm sold on the car because of its symplicity. Electric motor direct to rear wheels. No transmission, gas engine , or all the component parts. Yearly maintance is checking coolant for battery's and oil for screw drive ( as rearend universal ). After electric engine there is only steering box and brakes. On test drive found steping on accelator you go, releasing accelator the recharging of battery drags down to a stop with out using brakes. Scts just like electric screw gun. Different but really works good. Of course brakes are there if you need them.

You don't seem to understand nonucantmakemee, this is game-changing technology that has nothing to do with the traditional gas based auto industry. You'd be wise to forget gas cars even exist and get your head around what Tesla are doing. Any new technology reduces in price after a while as development and demand improves – just think of the products around the home that have come down in price recently and gradually become more affordable, HD TVs, blu-ray players, laptops etc... Tesla are no different.

Did you know that Tesla are also dramatically changing the way we buy cars, and for the better too? There is no middleman, no salesman, you buy the car directly from them. The Tesla showrooms are just that – showrooms, where you check out the car, nothing more. The people who work there provide clear information and because they are not on any kind of commission there is no sales waffle, just facts. The man behind their showrooms is George Blankenship, who was responsible for Apple's store concept. What's not to like!

I'll let you do your own research on the cars. The Model S won numerous car of the year awards, and their future models will be cheaper and serve different niche markets.
