You are here: TRANSLOGIC 129: Toyota Prius Family

We head to Toyota's North American headquarters in Torrance, Calif. to test the full Prius lineup. Everyone knows the original Prius, but we drive the family-sized Prius V, pint-sized Prius C, and mid-sized Plug-In Prius. Are these new additions to the family worthy of the Prius name?

That's not a GTI in the video (which is 0-60 in about 6.5s typically.) There's a Polo Diesel and a Polo Blue e-motion that are both in the range that the Yaris Hybrid runs it in, which is quoted as 11.5s.

Great gas mileage but not what I'd call peppy. Personally I'd like to get a diesel like the new Mazda 6 or a VW TDI. Seems like a great compromise.

The Prius C is not very fast?
Well it is not a race car, but of the line it can almost beat a VW Polo GTI with 180 hp.

search on youtube for yaris hybrid vs polo gti

in europe the prius c is called yaris hybrid and they changed it so it won't look like a prius

Virtually no mention of how the cars drive.

Nice.
