A few years back, Chevrolet ran a commercial that poked fun at Honda lawn mowers. In the ad, former NFL star and current analyst Howie Long gestures toward a red mower and admits, "Honda does make something that we just can't compete with." Little did Chevy know that Honda would later develop a lawnmower capable of keeping up with a stock Corvette.

Monday at Apple's WWDC keynote, VP of iOS software, Scott Forstall, made the announcement that Apple will finally be getting involved with the auto industry. It has been a long time coming. Many automakers have already tried to persuade the big fruit to collaborate on in-car tech, but it was always rumored that Apple wasn't interested. But now, it seems they have changed their minds and want to make their Siri voice recognition software the focus of in-car control.

Honda recently announced that it would begin leasing its EV-neo electric scooter in Japan beginning in December 2010. Initially available mainly to delivery businesses, the EV-neo will not, unfortunately, be offered in the United States. Despite their popularity around the world, ebikes and escooters like the EV-neo have yet to make many inroads in the U.S. But why not?
